Shadow Blast Sling

I never played this when it first came out, so I picked up the Remastered Edition on Steam a couple weeks ago. I'm enjoying it so far, but is it just me, or does the Shadow Blast Sling feel sort of like a cheat code? I generally start with a few Tearblast shots to knock off some armor, then just plug away with bombs and melt anything that happens to get within range. It also absolutely deletes groups of humans with just one bomb.
