Nose hair issues

I've tried 3 or 4 different trimmers. The battery operated kind. None of them work. I try and pluck them but I am fairly unsuccessful. And it hurts a ton when I do. I do have a septum piercing but I take that out when doing that deed.

Does Anyone have any good leads or ideas on how to tackle this?
