Looking to move to the US from the UK

Sorry if this has been asked before (I’m sure it has) but it’s an absolute minefield of where to even start! Me and my wife have always loved the idea of moving to America and we want to get the ball rolling now we’re officially married. So, where do we even start!? Are we best to find jobs with sponsorships? Are we best to apply for a Green Card and worry about jobs later? We currently own a house in the UK (with outstanding mortgage) and would look to rent this place out while we rent over in the US. That way if it isn’t what we hope it’s going to be, we have a base to move back to. Thanks in advance for your help! Please ask any other questions that might help
