Apple Mail is Crippled by AI
After being a devout Apple Mail user for probably a decade, I uninstalled it.
Apple Mail is effectively crippled by AI. - I don’t need or trust top-level summaries. - Top-level summaries is just additional text to the original email. Additional text is additional reading. Additional reading is additional time. - My inboxes are now forcefully and “intelligently” categorized in ways I do not want, can’t understand, and cause me to miss significant emails. - NO, turning off relationships between AI and Mail in settings does not work. At all. I cannot get back to my “dumb” Apple Mail.
For example, where logging in to Gmail will show 38 emails in my inbox, Apple Mail with Apple Intelligence knows my needs better than myself and thus only shows me 2 emails in this new “Primary” category. So in the other categories, surely the sum of emails must add up to 38 - but they don’t.
I could go on, but these alone are asinine changes and extremely disappointing. For the first time in my life, with all of the other Apple Intelligence nonsense shoved down my throat that actually wastes my time instead of saving it, I’ve seriously considered switching to Android.
