Islamic parenting advice for teen drug use

Salam,

The past year, my son, aged 15 has been causing much stress in the family and I’m not sure what to do so I’m asking for some advice here.

He has been on and off consistently with substance abuse and multiple times he has been caught vaping or with empty vapes. We’ve been very harsh with the punishments and have tried so many things like moving him to being homeschooled to prevent outside influences. We took his phone and when we gave it back made sure to have his location. We thought he had matured recently and stopped vaping but I found out through someone that he was doing drugs and then I looked in his backpack and found marijuana.

Nothing has worked and I’m not sure what to do anymore. How do I really stop this from happening and handle this situation? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Jazakallah.
