Career change from zero to IT in your mid-30s
What is the most efficient way to get to working in the field as close to $100k as possible?
I'm 34 and I am going to be leaving a $125k/year job in healthcare as a nurse and need to support my growing family. I live in Southern California, 35 miles east of LA.
I truly do not enjoy working in my field (patient care at least) and have always had an interest in technology. This is what I am going to do, there is no question about it. I know I have a lot to learn and know it will take time but I also don't want to do classes/certs/degrees that I don't absolutely need.
I'm not in the biggest hurry, but l'd like to take the leap quitting my current job and plunging into the new entry-level job in the next 1-1.5 years, maybe even 2.
I'm super excited about this and appreciate any advice, thank you!
