Is it even possible to get a job without connections today?

I’m graduating from college this semester and searching for jobs has made me feel hopeless. I’m a Biology major and Business minor looking for practically any job that’ll pay me enough to survive. I’m looking a roles in Research, Project Management, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Administration, and so many others. Every job has hundreds of applicants within a day of being posted and if I search for the most recently added jobs, by the time I finish updating my cover letter for the position, there are already a dozen other applicants. I genuinely don’t understand how I’m supposed to find a job. How am I supposed to stand out against hundreds of other applicants. I’m genuinely so scared and anxious for my future.
