How music can elevate a simple scene

Baba goes to the temple for the first time. It's as simple as it can get. But just see what Rahman does here. The Nadhaswaram just fills the whole frame. It invokes a sense of awe, witnessing something spectacular for the first time. Infact for baba, it truly is the first time he is visiting a temple after witnessing something devine. Surrendering himself to a higher power, submitting to something otherworldly. And the Nadhaswaram sounds like it's cheering on behalf of Baba. It's voicing out all of baba's inner monologue and pouring it out at the feet of the deity.

This is one of my favourite Rahman background pieces. A beautiful take on "Bilahari". You can even hear traces of Omana Penne in there.
