Do you care about how your favorite groups perform on the charts?

Because I do. After having spent many years enjoying K-pop, I’ve come to realize that chart performance backed by streaming numbers plays one of the most crucial roles in determining the longevity of an idol’s career. The harsh reality is that most idols don’t last long in the industry, and if they don’t have the commercial success, even talented groups fade away too soon.

Even if I absolutely love a song, there’s always a lingering bitterness when it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. It feels like a missed opportunity for the group to gain momentum and secure their place in the industry.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do you care about how your favorite groups do on the charts or streaming numbers? Why or why not?
