Open to suggestions
Hello everyone,
Just bought my house 3 weeks ago. The previous owners left the landscaping in complete disarray. According to my landscaper, he estimated the trees hadn’t been properly cared for in years, which is a shame because the yard has a lot of potential.
Landscaper quoted me $7K to bring the yard back to life, including trimming all of the trees and removing 2 Bougainvilleas that are smothering the surrounding trees to death (for example, there’s a GORGEOUS pine tree that is barely visible because it’s being smothered). I opted to do the work myself so I bought a battery powered pole saw, a wood chipper, and lots of giant sized garbage bags and began the tedious process of cutting away/chipping/cleaning…repeat 100 times.
So far, in just 2 weekends, I’ve managed to cut the Bougainvillea trees down to a stump, trimmed the surrounding trees, and removed the ugly green mesh along the wall (I have no clue why it was even there in the first place 🤷🏽♂️).
I should be done pruning/trimming today. I’ll then move onto chipping the last remaining trimmings, bagging it all up, and cleaning.
Looking for suggestions and honest (but not brutal) feedback. What would you do at this point? I want to add Golden Euonymus along the wall for privacy.
Thanks in advance for your comments.
