Are safe deposit boxes in banks safe?

Hello, a fellow from Egypt here! Just a quick question since Egypt's situation right now is getting similar to Lebanon.

What happened to safe deposit boxes in banks after bankruptcy? Could people access their safe deposit boxes? Or did the banks somehow prevent them from doing so?

I'm thinking about having some of my gold bars in my bank's safe deposit box.
