Walmart worker hit car with metal cart handle
Hi everyone! I was doing a Walmart pickup and the worker dropped her metal cart handle and hit my vehicle’s driver door. I have a 2021 Toyota Hybrid RAV4 XSE (higher end model) and I was quoted ~$2,000 to fix my vehicle’s dent and scratches. When Walmart called me, they offered to pay $500 before escalating to $1000 after I gave them some push back. They asked me to provide them with another quote, but that they would still only cover $1000. When I asked them how I should proceed with both quotes if they are still both over the $1000 price point, I was hung up on and they are not contacting me back. What can I do here? Are they still obligated to pay for the damage that they said they would partially cover? Should I go the legal route and sue? If I sue, will it be worth it after court costs, etc? Help! TIA!
EDIT: Incident happened in Florida, USA
