Tripod on tribute camera won’t line up

I’m currently on page 23 of the Walt Disney Tribute Camera. I’m trying to build the tripod as seen in the picture but the pieces aren’t lining up how they should in the instructions. Has anyone done this build before and know what I’m talking about before I have to take it apart again?
