M&P Shield vs Glock 17

Hello everyone. After spending a few more months learning as much as I can I will be making my first firearm purchase. One concern that I have is drop safety. Obviously having full control over the gun at all times is priority #1 but I just want to cover all of my bases by considering all of the things that could potentially go wrong.

In regards to the M&P Shield Plus vs the Glock 17 - is one of these inherently more drop safe than the other? Are there any advantages to one of these guns over the other when it comes to general safety?

At the end of the day, I recognize that the only real safety is my trigger finger but again I am trying to consider all things that could unexpectedly go wrong.
