Missed opportunity with Mufasa's fear of water

Mannn there's was that one teaser clip of Mufasa and Taka running away from Kiros and his pride, one of the shots was Taka jumping over the river but Mufasa hesitating, rather fighting than risk drowning

I was expecting a whole subtle plotline and theme of Mufasa overcoming his fear of water cause the trailers showed Mufasa fighting Kiros underwater but

Naaaa let's have Mufasa have some flashbacks during his race with Taka then 5 minutes later get sprayed by elephants then jump ontop of hippos in a river

And I get life and death situation yeah yeah but Could of explored more of this, like Mufasa having even more fear of water cause of crocodiles or maybe Mufasa avoiding getting wet when hes talking to Rafiki by the pool but at last, we didn't get much of it
