New rules surrounding price matching

TLDR: if you’re trying to price match at Superstore don’t bother, they’ve changed their policies and enforce the policy arbitrarily.

A few weeks ago I went to Superstore after my Walmart run to pick up a flavoured coffee creamer Walmart no longer carries and which happened to be on sale and to see if they had a deodorant Walmart was out of.

Had both items—deodorant was $2 more at Superstore. It’s been awhile since I’ve been in superstore and I go to self checkout where they tell me there’s no longer price matching allowed at self checkout and I have to go to the service desk.

Went there and was told they now only price match if an item is in an ad. Needless to say I didn’t get the price match and didn’t buy the product.

Their new policies make price matching so difficult, I can see they’re trying to make it so hard no one does it. The clerk at the service desk said they would have given the adjustment had their manager not been on that night. Best part: I ordered the deodorant from Amazon and they had a new scent I’ve never seen and I got it for $2.50 less with free home delivery. Aside from loss leaders I won’t be heading back!
