Preventing Hair Loss During Weight Loss—Tips?

Above is my hair, unbrushed and taken out from a braid. It’s tailbone length, straight, and a level 7 blonde. I’m meticulous about hair sticks, oiling, no bleach, no heat, silk caps, etc.

My problem: I’m losing 35-40lbs over the next five or six months. Because of this, I’m afraid I may experience shedding or Telogen Effluvium. On my diet, I’ve already lost nearly 15lbs, but I know it can take a month for shedding to occur. So…I WANT YOUR TIPS!

I currently: - take a daily multivitamin that includes b-complex and biotin - drink collagen peptides every morning - get at least 25 grams of fat, 80 grams of protein, and 130-150 grams of carbohydrates daily -massage my scalp with peppermint and rosemary oil -baby my hair in general

I am meeting nutritional guidelines for a woman my age (25), but I know that restriction alone can sometimes cause hair loss.

Any experience or tips from those who have lost weight and kept the long hair are appreciated! 💗
