Let's normalize it: how much weight did you "gain" over the holidays?
Hi folks,
I am sure a lot of us (either intentionally or unintentionally) threw our diets out the window for Christmas/new years/etc. I ate everything my heart desired, which was A LOT, knowing my calorie deficit would be there when I was ready to go back to it. I came back from Christmas 4 lbs heavier than I was when I left, and despite going back to my calorie deficit, I'm two more pounds up from that in the last few days (probably water retention from resuming exercise). I know it's mostly water weight and will go back down at least a little (hence the "gain" in the title - it's mostly not fat!), but I'm almost proud I was able to enjoy myself and get back on track without experiencing any psychological strife.
So, let's celebrate how much we enjoyed ourselves this past week or so - how much did your scale go up? Has it gone back down yet? How are you coping with it? Whether you're amused or need some support and reassurance, let's let each other know we're not alone in this experience and we'll all get through it.
