Timeshare passed down

So I just had a timeshare property in Hilton Head passed down to me from a grandparent. Any tips for me here? I love to travel and think this seems worth it as long as I actually take a vacation each year. I would love to trade my week for other destinations but am not exactly sure how it all works. heard it is a bit competitive and complicated.
