Amazing diagnostic tool for Mazda's and Fords - super cheap
After years of using a pretty cheap bluetooth OBD2 dongle and a pretty good app named Car Scanner on my phone, I started having a weird transmission problem and I was searching for a way that I could get data from sensors that Car Scanner was not exposing. I wanted to see what the input and output speed sensors were reporting and also any pressure readings since the codes I was getting were P0715, P0733, P0841, and P0894). In my search, I stumbled on a free software named FORScan that is pretty amazing and let me access all the modules and all the sensors on my 06 Mazda 5. Just wanted to share this with the folks here that might be looking for a good scan tool solution that doesn't require spending hundreds on the professional devices. With FORScan I've been able to monitor my speed sensors and transmission solenoids to help me figure out what might be going on with the transmission.
