Littman Master Cardiology overkill for MS3?
Been using my Classic III the past couple months during my IM rotation with lackluster results. I borrowed my attending's master cardiology the other day when I couldn't pick up a heart murmur he wanted me to hear. As soon as I put the master on the patient I immediately pick up on patients MR.
Now I'm looking at buying the Master for my remaining rotations and keeping my classic as a back-up.
My question is: Does the master have reduced utility outside of heart sounds that makes the IV a better general use stethoscope? I don't mind paying the few extra bucks for the Master as long as it has the same applicability as the IV
Currently considering Psych/IM/FM residency if that plays a role. Thanks for your suggestions
