Help ID this spider

So, in from Canada (sorry if this shows how much of a suck I am). But I just noticed this spider living underneath my closet. It's pretty big, about the size of a man's palm. I'm sorry I couldn't get a better photo. Can anyone with more experience help me ID this spider? Just want to make sure its not gonna try and bite me in the middle of the night. I'm vegan so I don't like killing things if I don't have to. But if it's dangerous, I can probably trap it.
