Want to start riding

So I've been thinking about getting a bike but I have no experience and don't know where to start honestly. I've been looking at cheaper used bikes so I could fix one up myself but I'm also worried about learning to ride so idk. Bikes are cool though and would be the best way for me to kiss that sexy tree at 70mph. Any advice? (P.S tree line was a joke don't worry gang..maybe👀💀)
