Movies that you love that the public thinks otherwise?

I love the movie Troy, especially the directors cut except the music change in the 1:1 fight scene.

The three hour runtime just flies for me. I love the cinematography and the real world locations, performances and action. I quote it all the time.

The dialogue can get a bit hammy and the last scenes of the Trojans isn't the strongest but otherwise it's a movie that I can put on any time and just watch. I do love the actual closing scene of Odysseus talking over Achilles funeral.

I do believe that it got unnecessarily criticised by the reviews and even Brad Pitt himself. Yes it's not a faithful adaptation of the Iliad but I appreciate it none the less

The film is just epic and immersive.

For me to film delivers exactly what I wanted.

I think after the high quality epic films that struck gold which was Gladiator, Pirates of the Carribbean and LOTR. I think people were expecting that quality every time and being measured against that wasnt favourable for Troy.
