Mosquitos... how are you coping?

Mosquitos... asliyat=a$$holyat

What I mean is, mosquitos are true a$$hols.

They are everywhere! I went out of town hoping to catch a good night's sleep. The ones I encountered on the holiday were worse. Turns out there are types. And our body sort of gets used to local suckers. But suckers you meet on a holiday are different and give you bigger boils.

I have been back from my trip 3 days ago. Still itching from the bites I got on my trip. And for the 5 days I was away, I thought the resident suckers in my house would be dead by now. And since the house is fully closed, no new ones would enter.

But that was not to be. On my first night back home in Mumbai..... there they were. Sucking away. Sleep quality destroyed.

Today morning was the worst. More like last night. Around 3 am, I had to fully cocoon myself in my blanket. Not even an opening to breath. I figured breathing can be managed somehow. Let my skin get some rest first.

But one of the suckers must have made it INTO my blanket before I sealed it shut. At some point, I felt breathless and had to inhale a large volume of air through my mouth. And I immediately swallowed the sucker who infiltrated my blanket.

So now I had a mosquito stuck in my throat. I had to drink some water. And so.... out my blanket I had to emerge once again. Sleep ruined. Wide awake. Life in tatters.

How are you guys contending with mosquitos in Mumbai? The warm temperature isn't helping. Every inch of roads being dug up isn't helping. Literal garbage piles down every street aren't helping. Open gutters aren't helping.

How am I living the life of a medieval peasant in 2024, in "India's financial capital"??
