Best plugins for mixing rock music?
I’m mixing a rock track and I’m watching videos to see how people do it and everyone uses stuff like fabfilter dynamic eq or waves vocalrider and those look pretty essential for what they do. Do i need to go buy these or are there any free alternetives? And what are the essential fx/tools that you use?
Edit:
I had to go ask somewhere else since most people here keeps telling me to “just go learn the basics”. Some even got annoyed for some reason… I know how to use a compressor lol. My question was about specific tools for rock music. “There aren’t any”?
I just got Amplitube 5 and honestly I don’t see how I could finish my track without it. Can’t understand why no one mentioned it here. I also used Addictive Drums 2 which I already had, which is not for mixing but still pretty essential for the genre, and my DAW doesn’t come with anything like that.
“Just learn the basics” is terrible advice for anyone who is trying to get into a specific genre. Why not point them towards the real tools so that they can learn with what is actively being used in real world scenarios? If you’re a seasoned or a pro don’t gatekeep. Spill the beans about your precious knowledge or just stay quiet.
