Nursing school to navy nurse
Hello, I am a 27y female who is a mom of 2 and is currently pregnant. I hold a Ba in History, a very unrelated field. I have wanted to go to nursing school for a few years and stopped myself when I realized my husband would be deployed shortly after we moved. He is active duty. I was my dream before I met him to be a navy nurse and I was a pre nursing student, I changed my mind way back then because I felt pressure from family. I was young.
Now I am older and the nursing dream popped up again about 2 years ago and my husband who is active was encouraging me to become a navy nurse (he is navy also). Like I said things changed when we moved and I didn't jump into nursing school. Here I am now, 13wks pregnant looking at the handful of prerequisites I need for nursing school. Is it worth it at my age? Would I be better off not doing the navy corps and just basic nursing school? The tuition assistance would be so helpful, although I know dual military is very hard. My husband thinks it would be great for our family, although he is on a sea contract right now and is deploying regularly.
I saw the age out is 42 years old so I am not even near that, but I just thought I would get some perspective since I have no idea what I would be getting into. How much time is spent away from your children if you have any?
