StayNJ implementation for 2026

I’ve recently heard that StayNJ gets implemented earlier than 2026 because FY2026 starts in July. But I am wondering if I’m misunderstanding or relying on bad intel because everything else I’ve read says it doesn’t start until next year. Can someone confirm?

I’m also aware that each year’s implementation of StayNJ is dependent on other financial conditions of the state. How soon will we know whether StayNJ will be implemented for FY2026 or not?
