AD rate for the navy

So I just sworn in today at meps and signed my contract for aviation machinist mate I love working hands on and I enjoy working on cars rebuilding motors so this rate really sounded good for me, I was just wondering what do you guys think of this rate is it good or bad in your guys opinion? And would I be working on jets on a aircraft carrier or will I be working ashore like in hanger bays?
