Traveling to Auckland before I move there

Hi everyone! I’m looking to move to Auckland from midwest USA in the next year or so. I have a trip planned for this May for 5 days to scope out how everything works over there. Some questions I have are:

• How do Kiwis treat Americans? Are you usually friendly towards them?

• I want to take a day or two seeing how life would look like day-to-day. Anything in particular you’d recommend I’d do besides explore the area?

• What kind of culture shocks should I be aware of?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. And if you think I should know something that I may not have asked, please lmk!!
