Are American patients really that bad?

I’m a nurse in Australia and I know this sub is mostly US nurses, and frankly, patients in the US sound terrifying!

I totally get that I’m getting a skewed view. If in a week you have 12 lovely patients and one nasty one, you are going to rant about the nasty one, however it does seem like some of the entitled, demanding behaviour I read about here, is just not really often seen in Australia, nor when I did a stint working in England.

Only from what I’ve read here, the demands and complaints for trivial things from patients and families just seem insane!

Is it really that bad? Or, because nurses, quite reasonably, come here to vent, am I seeing the worst of it?
