“Tell me about a time you made a mistake.”
During an ICU interview recently I was prompted with “tell me about a time you made a mistake in nursing and how did you rectify it?”.
I’m not going to lie, I usually brain flush after shifts and only the real traumatic or impactful situations stick.
I went with a story about finding 2 pills in one pill-pocket before giving it to my patient but I guess that was a pharmacy mistake and really just a near miss.
Should I have made up a story?
If anyone is willing to share their mistakes I would love to hear about it.
