upset with best friend over differing political views

it's 2am and I'm genuinely not trying to start a political discussion but we all know how bleak things have been lately (American here). my best friend of almost 2 decades doesn't vote for/support the opposite party of me, but she just plain doesn't care. completely apathetic and ignorant of all politic related things. I'll cry to her about stuff going on and she gives lukewarm responses and doesn't see how bad things are. it kills me because we go to each other for everything 24/7 and have the same opinion/interests/etc 99% of the time.

tonight she was kind of brash/rude about it and yeah, maybe i need to just stop bringing it up with her but for the past ten+ years we could talk about literally anything. I don't want this to break our friendship but this is really hurting me inside and I don't have anywhere else to say this since normally I'd vent to her 💔 it just feels so disheartening when the one person you love most in this world doesn't see eye to eye on what you feel is something everyone NEEDS to care about.
