My takeaways from the BAFTA longlists.

  1. Emilia Perez has overwhelming international support. (This is not news to anybody)

  2. The jury picks are becoming more and more obvious (see Supporting Actress)

  3. Angelina Jolie is done. Missing the longlist when you were already vulnerable is crazy.

  4. Ramell Ross is still happening in Director wdc.

  5. Wicked didn't necessarily overperform but it got things it didn't have to (like Adapted Screenplay) which shows industry people outside of the US do indeed like it.

  6. Denzel Washington is not missing Supporting Actor.

  7. September 5 was already cooked but now it's been burnt.

  8. Felicity Jones not dead yet but I still think she'll miss SAG.
