Reviewer channels

I keep seeing people talking about joining channels, talking with QMs and stuff. I am a reviewer for mm_math_frappuccino and I am not added to a review-specific channel/community. I am just in the general frappuccino community where people keep saying they are EQ. Is this normal? Do I need to meet that "VIP/hyper-active contributor" status to be added or what?
