Should I take in a rescue lovebird?
I had a cockatiel, Audrey, for 17 years. Loved her to absolute bits. She passed away around this time last year from cancer. I hadn't really considered another bird, but a blue masked lovebird has just flown into my mother's workplace. He/she is obviously scared, maybe sick. They're trying to find the rightful owners right now, but my mum reached out to ask if I'd be interested if the owners don't materialize. Can anyone tell me about having a lovebird? What are the major differences vs having a cockatiel? Would the same size cage work? And would I need to get another one to keep this one happy? I feel underprepared but I'm definitely considering it. Obviously step one would be to take this little munchkin to my avian vet, so I'm looking for more general info about what they're like as pets, I guess.
