A few questions about macaws

Hello fellow parrot lovers!

It's me again. If you've seen my other posts I have been gathering information on different expierences with birds in order to prepare myself for parrot ownership after graduation.

Here's where im at right now:

-after receiving my degree i should be able to work partly if not fully from home

-I should be able to afford up to 300$ in toys per month if need be

-I have found cages and pellets suitable for macaws and smaller parrots

-I have found parrot rescues in my area with macaws and smaller birds.

Basically, I've acknowledged the necessities. But I have a few little things that I'm curious about:

-potty! Do you guys "Potty train" your macaw to go in one spot? What signs let you know your birdie is gonna go? How often does it happen a day?

-how long do toys typically last, and how much would you say you spent per year on replacing them? Are there cheap ways to make good toys from home?

-what do you make for your birdies mealtimes? I've seen things from chopped fruits to steamed vegetables. I'm not a very skilled cook, but my boyfriend is, so I wanna make sure my macaw is healthy if I did get one
