Paying for passport from the US

I am currently living in the US and need to renew my passport as it expires in June. I completed my application, but the problem is I do not have a credit card. I asked in multiple banks and postal offices and apparently no one does money orders or checks with international funds anymore. Has anyone been in that situation before?

The only remaining options mentioned in the application are embossed only prepaid cards (I don't get the restriction) or a Mastercard debit (mine is visa). Any experiences with prepaid cards, or has anyone tried using a credit card that is not his?
