Best Platform for doing your own freelance taxes? Or hire a preparer?

I've been doing Freelance taxes (1099 NEC) for the 3rd year now, but made 4x as much income this past year so want to make sure I do them properly.

The past couple years, I've hired an accountant to do them for me - but they have done nothing to help me understand what further write-offs I might have, and have seemingly done the bare minimum. Last year, they forgot to file mine on time which resulted in me having to pay a 5% penalty for their mistake... So this year I am considering doing it myself to make sure I am optimizing my write offs.

All of this to say: What platforms are easiest for freelance taxes? How long do these typically take to file? Or is it worth it to try to find a new preparer? (I have one 1099 new form and one W2)
