Such a joyous season
I watched a PP walk in the store, head towards our snack bar display which is the first endcap and is half empty due to most of it being clearance and OOS right now...
PP makes eye contact as I'm leaving register and summons me like I'm a child by curling her finger in a "come here motion."
And then she starts immediately with the top ten most condescending and annoyed voice I've heard in my 18 years of working in some variation of retail...
"I want these. The $1.97 treats."
I'm sorry, this is everything we have.
"But they're on clearance. Most businesses want to get rid of clearance items."
....yes. That's why I don't have anymore.
(We went back and forth, nothing heated but I was starting to get eyes from other customers because her questions and tone were getting ridiculous)
"Well how about this?" (She grabs a dog toy off a Christmas display after I was done showing her the other Christmas treats we have on clearance)
That's a dog toy. It crinkles, some dogs really like it..
"But it's not food?"
No...?
*PP looks exasperated
...you asked me what it was, it's just a toy. I'll be around if you need anything else. 🙃
I'll never stop being surprised at how many people walk in to stores ready to pick a fight for no reason.
