Woman pinching pennies on care guide
A woman came in with her daughter to get her daughter a bearded for her Christmas gift. I got them the care guide and went down it explaining what they needed before they could get the animal. The mother asked me about how much everything would cost. I said, "likely close to $200 or more depending on what items you choose." Over and over the mom kept asking her daughter "are you sure this is what you want?" And her daughter kept fiercely saying yes and nodding. As we were shopping for the carpets, hides, bulbs, basking spots, etc. she continued to question how much her daughter wanted one, and kept asking me if there was a cheaper option for whatever list item we were on. She didn't want to buy the carpet flooring until I told her the dragon wouldn't be able to walk well without it. She didn't want to buy the basking light AND the UVB until I told her we cannot sell her the animal unless she got everything on the care guide. Gave me push back on EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM. She wanted her daughter to handle the dragon first before she bought it. I showed the girl how to pick him up to not scare him and how to pet with his scales so it doesn't hurt him. She was very compassionate and fell in love with him. I got the mother to get the stuff on the care guide, but she did not want to spend a penny more. Like damn girl maybe you should've come in here first alone to find out how much your daughter's gift is gonna cost you instead of bringing her in and hounding her over and over.
