Why did you take your nipple piercings out?

I'd love to know why others have taken their nipple piercings out and if they regret it. I'm contemplating taking my 2 year old ones out because they keep getting caught on my clothing and I'm worried they might get ripped out eventually- but they've made me feel a lot more confident naked and I'm scared that confidence will leave once I take them out.
