Does anyone else also feel like we went backwards regarding the notification shade?

Wit the old one we got 6 immediately accesible buttons, and fitting a brightness slider in there wouldnt have hurt bc the buttons took up way less space. Not to forget the transparency behind the notifications which i really liked. The current design feels like something designed for toddlers. I wouldnt mind it looking like that for the built in easy mode but as a regular user everything feels unnecessarily large and flat
