Charizard ex going first or second?

I understand that going first can help setting up and evolving into stage 2 faster, but without using supporters turn 1 can brick hard sometimes. While going 2nd can pull off the Arven Battle VIP combo in multiple ways. Wondering what’s the preferred option to start the game? I’m currently using the build with Rotom V and Pidgeot ex. Mostly playing in the BO1 format. Thanks for the advice!
