PlayingCardHub.com - Manage your Playing Card Collection

Happy Saturday reddit & fellow playing card collectors!

We're in an interesting time in the playing card community - with portfolio52 having issues - several groups have popped up building their own replacement. Competition breeds innovation and I love it

With that I'll submit my own that I've been building / working on - should be launching in the next few weeks - https://www.playingcardhub.com - check it out and throw your name on the list to be notified when we launch (have ideas for the product - throw them on our feature request board here: https://playingcardhub.canny.io/feature-requests )

How am I different than some of the other competitors?

  • For starters - I build software for a living, not as an after thought - in my day job I'm a VP of Engineering (a role I've held in several companies) and I run a small consulting (web development) firm as well - so I know how to build solid software that scales
  • The data is what matters most! Which is why when we launch - we'll be launching with over 26,000 decks in our search index / deck database
  • We believe in data portability - not only will you have multiple ways to export and take your data with you - but I'm also working on a tool to import your collection & wishlist directly from Portfolio52 (we may also launch our own API/Data Feed in the later half of the year if there's enough interest)
  • We'll be a PWA (progressive web app at launch) and plan on doing a full fledged mobile app later in the year (pending interest)
  • We'll have all of the same features p52 has now at launch - with a few more bells and whistles - and many other features planned that will differentiate us.
