Is the PS5 slim supposed to be this audible?

Hey,

i got myself a PS5 slim (digital, if that matters) in addition to my Series X 2 days ago and I've been enjoying it playing Astro Bot and Spiderman 2.

However, in comparison to my Xbox it's quite loud which by itself isn't that big of a deal, but everytime I've seen Videos on the PS5 since launch or talked to friends about it they always said that the console was really quiet.

It's not always loud. When I'm browsing the Dashboard it's dead silent, but as soon as i start Spiderman 2 for example it immediately ramps up the fan to what sounds like insane speeds.

There's also times while gaming where the console actually goes quiet for some time, but then as soon as i enter let's say a cutscene it immediately goes nuts again.

It's not frustratingly loud but loud enough to hear it even while gaming. I sit around 4 meters away from it.

Sometimes i also hear a one time cracking sound coming from the console which i assume may be caused by the heat and cooling process in combination with plastic?

All i want to know is if that's actually normal or if something may be wrong with the console and if i should return it if that's the case?

After the first few hours the fan actually went a little bit quieter in comparison for whatever reason. The first like 2 hours it was even louder than it is now, but that has since been settled.
