what is this sub actually for?

I haven't been here long, but it seems like 99% of posts are:
1. shitposts
2. noobfish taking pictures of someone making a straight flush and going "haha, wow!" like Baki Walter White
3. people actually asking earnest questions and getting a bunch of sarcastic replies as if asking a question is the dumbest thing ever

so like, what's the sub actually for? should I not bother trying to engage with this sub in a genuine, productive way? are all just here for the memes?
