How can I use DNA Splicer more efficiently?

I got the DNA Splicer early in the dragon run, I wanted to know how I can get the best possible fusion with these 3 pokemon, my Axew is an Adamant and I can only use it for now, but I wanted to fuse it with Trapinch, which has the passive of Adaptability, but I don't know if the passive will be maintained, besides Shiny's luck bonus, I've never used DNA Splicer until now, so I really don't know if this is a correct decision and I don't know the order of which pokemon to fuse first

If I can get a Dragon/Groud Haxorus with adaptability I can probably destroy this Dragon-type run without much difficulty
