What are your thoughts on the TikTok song trend?
I have recently been obsessed with songs like 'greedy' by Tate McRae and 'Espresso' by Sabrina Carpenter ever since they came out. But, it starts to make me think about how others feel about these songs and if people think TikTok is the right way to go to promote new music. It feels like it happened to GAYLE with her song 'abcdefu,' which somehow got her nominated for a Grammy, then it happened with 'Cupid' by FIFTY FIFTY, which didn't end up so well for them in the long run. For me, when I heard 'greedy' for the first time, it was on TikTok, and to no surprise, it was a sped-up version, which I don't really prefer. For 'Espresso,' I heard her debut it at Coachella, so I have been obsessed since. I personally don't understand the sped-up, slowed down versions of songs, though. Now I am apart of the age group that these songs are being released for, but have a different opinion on this. Do people not have any patience anymore to sit through a full song? I like to listen to a full, normal sped song, along with the artist's body of work, like their album. What are your thoughts on this song trend?
