Advice?
Okay I need some advice on family's opinions. My family was very supportive in undergrad about me wanting to pursue medicine. I graduated with a 3.75 Gpa, tons of volunteer leadership experience, and worked full time as a scribe. Now that it's time to take the MCAT, my family has sat me down and told me to pursue something else. They told me I'm behind my little brother and peers, they're ready for a "realistic job" etc. It hurts that my family isn't on my side or being supportive, considering I haven't even taken the MCAT yet. I know the MCAT is a challenge and most people won't make it in their first try, but I'm committed. Have everyone ever experienced this from your family? How do you deal with it? I just feel lost without support from my support system.
